Our History
Scouting America Troop 441 was formed in 2026 by the merger of two of Carmichael's longest-running Scout units: Troop 386 and Troop 55. Between them they bring well over a century of Scouting to our community. Here are their stories.
Troop 55 : A Century of Scouting (1923–2026)
Troop 55 was founded in 1923, when its first Scouts met in a lumber cabin beside the old Carmichael Presbyterian Church on Marconi Avenue. Chartered by the Carmichael Kiwanis Club in the Pioneer Express District of the Golden Empire Council, the troop spent a century serving the community through flag ceremonies, river cleanups, and Kiwanis fundraisers. On June 11, 2023, Troop 55 celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Troop 386 : Sixty Years Strong (1965–2026)
Troop 386 was chartered on December 1st, 1965 originally by Carmichael Elks Lodge #2103, where it has met on Tuesday nights since about 1970, and more recently sponsored by the American River Rotary Club. In 2019 the troop chartered a girls troop, and over its six decades it has guided roughly 98 Scouts to the rank of Eagle. Troop 386 celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015 and its 60th in 2025.

Troop 441 : A Shared Future (2026–)
In 2026, Troop 386 and Troop 55 joined together to form Troop 441, carrying forward both legacies under the charter of the Carmichael Kiwanis Club. We remain proudly youth-led and rooted in the same Carmichael community our predecessor troops have served for generations.
